Forgotten Divinity
Digital Rug Series - 2025
Forgotten Divinity is an ongoing series of digital rugs that pays tribute to the sacred connection between Mother Earth and nature. Inspired by flowers, gardens, and the rich visual language of ornamental design, the works seek to restore a sense of wonder in an age increasingly defined by speed, utility, and distraction. They also reflect on how the subtle beauty of the natural world is gradually being overshadowed by the consuming momentum of contemporary digital life.
The series explores the rug as a generative form, using it as a bridge between contemporary visual language and older cultural expressions of ornament and composition. Each work presents multiple viewpoints of imagined landscapes and natural elements within a single frame, drawing inspiration from Iranian miniature painting, where perspective is layered, symbolic, and non-linear rather than fixed.
The series premiered at the Design in Motion (DEMO) Festival, where it was exhibited on outdoor screens across the Netherlands in January 2025, and continues to evolve with additional compositions currently in development.

Created using PiNodes, a custom system of parametric design components that I developed in TouchDesigner, the works merge generative processes with ornamental aesthetics. Motion and design are intertwined so that many elements within each composition remain in constant transformation, reflecting the generative and ever-evolving nature of life itself.
